Well, here we are, a NEW DSLR design that I'm giving to PENTAX (we'll see ho how that goes lol). It still utilizes an optical viewfinder, but also utilizes on sensor phase detect and there's no mirror to get in the way. This would combine the advantages of mirrorless AF with the traditional OVF. It could also be the solution to PENTAX's hybrid viewfinder patent coming to fruition! So, what do you think? I'm nuts, or is this brilliant?! I know of a camera that does have an advanced motion detecting auto capture, but guess what? In a less advanced way (not being able to program the direction or size of the subject), PENTAX cameras can do hands free auto capture! The correct setting for the right moment seems like a no brainer. However, Extract edge doesn't seem to get as much love as Highlight Edge does and isa valuable tool for the right time and place. It compliments Highlight Edge focus peaking. In case you noticed, I put lower case e for "Extract edge" to to it's "lessor" known status and use. What we see as the AF point isn't showing the whole area that spot auto focus is covering. This can cause issues when you have a small object in the frame that may be getting picked up when the subject is just beside it but covered in the AF point you see in the viewfinder. The camera may focus on the object instead of the subject since it's still within the AF point. That's where SEL XS comes into play. You shouldn't go higher than 400". This list goes on with more of the same, misinformation. When you shoot moving subjects in low light, ISO 100, 200. 400, 800, 1600, even 3200, 6400 and 12,800 may not be enough for the shutter speed you'd need to freeze action. So, "shoot at the lowest ISO, don't go above 800 or 1600", and similar advice is terrible. There are times for low ISO and times for high ISO, but not all ISO's work for each image situation. I got my media papers and the list of locations (none have an address though lol) and I have to go pick up my media kit/gear tomorrow, then return on Saturday to shoot the rally.
